I am working as a cashier at a bank. A customer coming through the drive-thru wants to cash a check but he can’t because his account is in the negative.
Me: “Okay, sir, I cannot cash your check because your account is in the negative. You can either deposit your check to take away some of your debt, leaving you at -$3.50, or I can give you back the check.”
Customer: “Uh… just go ahead and deposit it.”
I proceed to deposit it and bring him the receipt.
Me: “Thank you, sir. Have a nice day.”
Customer: “Don’t I get money back?”
Me: “No, sir.”
