This Is Not Up For Conversation, Period!
This story reminded me of a situation at work about ten years ago. I’m a tall woman (over six foot) with quite masculine facial features. The rest of me is on the large size, too.
One boss decided on his own that I was pretending to be a woman because “you’ve obviously had implants, and no woman is that tall or has those facial features.” Had he not continued his tirade the next day, and the next week, I wouldn’t have done what I did.
Finally, angered beyond all measure at the rant he gave me when I was in the bathroom for a long time (I had a heavy period and was in freaking agony) I snapped and said:
Me: “You wanna see proof? Okay, fine!”
I lobbed the packet of sanitary towels at him.
Me: “Next time you make that comment, it won’t be clean ones either.”
I got in trouble for that, but he got in WAY more trouble when HR found out he’d been going around saying I was a bloke in disguise.
Note: I am very well aware that many, many women, both cis and trans, don’t have periods, but I was really angry and absolutely WOULD have saved the used ones too.
