This Is Not How We Roll

Back in the day, when I worked at a bank drive-thru, customers could make deposits in the tube that got sucked up by air (pneumatic tubes). You can’t put heavy things in the tube, or it gets stuck. There are signs right on the machine that state no rolled coins in the tube. I see a customer about to do this.

Me: “Sir, no rolled coins in the tube.”

Customer: “Why?”

Me: *Pointing to the sign.* “It doesn’t like heavy deposits. They get stuck.”

Customer: “Okay.”

So, before I notice, the customer rips the rolled coins open and dumps all the loose coins in the tube and pushes the send button. Of course, it gets stuck.
