This Is Just Not Homeworking
(I’m in a tech school, with my major being that of networking. In many of the classes I’ve taken so far, I’ve always enjoyed the teacher, the class, even the homework. Our classes are five hours long: two hours lecture, three hours of lab work. However, I learned quickly that for every good teacher in this school… there’s bound to be a bad one.)
Teacher: *giving lecture about subnets and how to calculate them*
Student #1: *raises hand to ask question about the homework*
Teacher: *stares at student* “You can ask your question at the end of class.”
(He then sent us to the lab where, instead of teaching us about the lab work we needed to do, he assigned it as homework and said we’re welcome to ask questions before retreating to the back of the lab to surf the Internet. He proceeded to do this for EVERY. SINGLE. CLASS. With the excess homework, it became near impossible to do it and the mandatory work for other classes, with some of the work taking over 16 hours just to do half of it. As the semester went on, I found out that out of around 20 or so students only two or three were passing, including myself.)
