This Conversation Is Clanky
I used to work at a shoe shop called ‘Clarks’, which is famous in the UK. The logo of the store is the name written in cursive.
Customer: “Can I get some clanks?”
Me: “Are… are those a type of shoe?”
Customer: “Clanks! Your name outside! You sell clanks!”
Me: “Sir, that’s ‘Clarks’. The name of the shop is Clarks, and we sell shoes.”
Customer: “Oh… well then what are clanks?”
Me: “I don’t know, sir. You’re the one that walked in here wanting some.”
Customer: “Hmm, well I don’t need shoes. I’ll come back if you decide to sell clanks.”
Me: “I’ll… make a note of that, sir.”
