Thinking You May Be Syrup-titiously Rich

(I’m walking down the baking aisle when a customer stops me.)

Customer: “Excuse me?”

Me: “Yes?”

Customer: “Which of these is better?”

(The customer pulls down two bottles of syrup off the top shelf.)

Me: “Which one tastes better?”

Customer: “Yes, which one has better quality?”

(One of these bottles is about $10, and the other is on sale for $17.)

Me: “Well, I’ve never used [$17 brand].”

Customer: *offended* “So what do you use?”

Me: “Honestly? The [Store] brand, or [Another Cheap Brand], sometimes. They’re cheap.”

(The customer scoffs and walks away. I’m left wondering who can afford to spend so much on syrup.)
