They’ve Been Overcharging For A Long Time

I’m walking past the customer service desk when I overhear this exchange. It is currently June.

Clerk: “Hello, how can I help you?”

Customer: “Yes, I was looking over my bank accounts from August, and based on the sales you’ve had since then, I think I was overcharged.”

Clerk: *Pause* “Do you have any receipts?”

Customer: “No, I lost those months ago, but I’m sure I was overcharged.”

I had to walk away so I could laugh while the poor customer service clerk tried to convince her that she had not been overcharged and there wasn’t anything they could do ten months later.
