They’re Special

(My husband and I both have the same somewhat uncommon medical condition. I have been seeing a specialist for treatment for a while. He was diagnosed before we met, and was treated successfully, but he has been starting to have symptoms again. He is at his first appointment with a different specialist in the same practice.)

Husband: “Several years ago, I was diagnosed with [Uncommon Medical Condition] and treated it with medication.”

Doctor: “That’s interesting. My colleague was recently telling me about a female patient whose husband diagnosed her with [Uncommon Medical Condition] because he’d had it before and recognized the symptoms.”

Husband: “That would be me.”

(Apparently we’re the talk of the specialist clinic!)
