They Make Labor Day More Laborious, Part 2
It is Labor Day, and since I am a retail drone, I am working. A customer comes in and casually browses. They don’t seem to be looking for anything in particular, just looking for a way to pass the time.
Customer: “So what are you up to on this lovely Labor Day?”
I look down at my uniform, my name badge, around the store, and then at him.
Me: “I’m working here… providing labor.”
Customer: “Oh… uh, yeah. That was a stupid thing to ask.”
Me: “…”
Customer: “You’re supposed to disagree with that part.”
Me: “But, sir, the customer is always right.”
Customer: “…yeah, I deserved that.”
He walks out as aimlessly as he walked in.
