They Had That Out In No Time Flat As A Pancake

I work in a family-owned and operated café. I work mainly in the back making the food but due to someone being sick I have to take some orders today.

Customer: “How long will it take to make the chocolate chip pancakes?”

Me: “About ten minutes.”

Customer: “Okay, I’ll order that.”

Ten minutes from her paying for the order, she got her pancakes.

Customer: “That took too long!”

Me: “I said ten minutes and it has been less than that.”

Customer: “I paid expecting it to be ten minutes and it took longer, so I am not paying.”

Me: “Madam, you got what you paid for. You’re not getting a refund. You have two choices: eat these lovely pancakes, or go hungry and I get to eat the lovely pancakes.”

Customer: “…fine, but only because I don’t want you to get them!”

I was so happy to go back to just making the food the next day!
