Their Universe Is Just Not Compatible With Ours

While I am waiting in a local deli/coffee shop, I overhear this delightful exchange between a student at the local university and the barista.

The barista places a coffee on the counter for pickup drinks.

Barista: “Coffee for [Customer]! I have a coffee for [Customer].”

Customer: “Is that my drink?”

Barista: “Are you [Customer]?”

Customer: “Yes.”

Barista: “Then this is probably your drink.”

Customer: “But I already have my drink.”

Barista: *Pauses and blinks* “Then this is probably not your drink.”
