Their Financial Education Is Insufficient
Me: “Sorry, ma’am, but that card has been declined.”
Customer: “Oh, why?”
Me: “Most likely the reason is insufficient funds.”
Customer: “Why?”
Me: “Why… what, ma’am?”
Customer: “Why do I have insufficient funds?”
Me: “Ma’am, I don’t know why you have insufficient funds.”
Customer: “Well that’s not very helpful.”
Me: “I would recommend calling your bank, ma’am.”
Customer: “So you can’t help me?”
Me: “Only if you have another form of payment.”
Customer: “Well I have other cards, but those don’t work either. They have that thing on them you just said.”
Me: “What thing?”
Customer: “That thing you just said. The funds on them have been made inefficient or whatever.”
Me: “Insufficient?”
Customer: “Yeah… that. I need to look up what that means, I’ve been hearing people like you saying it a lot lately.”
