The Worst Save File Ever

It’s a slow day. The manager and I are just killing time behind the counter when a loud alarm starts blaring from the phone store down the mall.

About fifteen seconds later, a really shady-looking guy walks into our store. Two mall security guards follow him in, not stopping him yet but just watching. 

The guy pulls his hands out of his coat and wanders toward the back corner of the store. He starts flipping through game cases, clearly trying to look like he’s shopping.

I watch him, the manager watches him, and so do the guards.

Then, right in front of all of us, he slips a phone behind a half-empty row of game cases. He puts his hands back in his pockets and heads for the exit.

One of the guards steps in front of him.

Security Guard: “Hold up. We know you stole a phone from the phone store.”

The guy immediately starts yelling.

Customer: “You’re just out to get me! This is bull-s***! Ask the guys behind the counter, they know I didn’t steal it! They were here the whole time!”

Both guards turn and look at my manager and me. I just stand there, completely dumbfounded, trying to process what I just watched. My manager just silently reaches behind the game cases and pulls out the phone.

Customer: “F****** traitor!”

They escort him out while the alarm from the phone store is still going off.
