The Terrible Twenty-Twos

| Working | May 30, 2017

(I work as a server in a kitchen. One of my coworkers, Coworker #1, can be a bit much. If she decides to have a bad day, we all have a bad day. Coworker #2 is assigned to the kitchen prepping food for the rest of us to deliver. It is not yet busy, so Coworker #1 is standing idle.)

Coworker #2: “Hey, [Coworker #1], can you take this to table 22?”

Coworker #1: “No.”

Coworker #2: *laughs at first thinking she’s joking — she’s not* “…wait, no?”

Coworker #1: “No.”

Coworker #2: *said in earnest tone* “What do you mean no? Are you a child?”

Coworker #1: “Sometimes I am.”

(I ended up running the food once I had a free hand.)

Question of the Week

Have you ever served a bad customer who got what they deserved?

I have a story to share!
