The Student Body Is Wrong
(We’re in Spanish class, and our teacher has decided to let a few of my native-speaking classmates to teach the class. They’re offering Starbursts for correct translations.)
Phrase to Translate: “Te parece romanticas bodas?”
(The class has a collective brain fart. All I know is, “bodas’ kind of looks like “bodies.)
Me: *whispering* “Do you find my body romantic?”
Guy Next To Me: *hand shoots up, starts shouting* “DO YOU FIND MY BODY ROMANTIC?!”
Student Teacher: “No, that’s not it.”
Guy Next To Me: “No… do you find BODIES romantic? Do I find YOUR body romantic?”
(I’m laughing too hard to tell him I’m screwing with him at this point.)
