The Roll Reversal
When I was in school for my current job, I worked at a home improvement store. I was cleaning the bathroom one evening after closing (we all took turns on this) and had to replace the toilet paper in the ladies’ room. I couldn’t find the key that opened the dispenser in the stalls, so I asked my manager, who is a guy.
Manager: “Just put it on the floor.”
I spoke very slowly, enunciating every word.
Me: “Okay. So, you want me… to put the toilet paper… On. The. Floor. In the ladies’ room. Yes?”
He rolled his eyes, sighed really deeply, and said:
Manager: “I’ll go find the key.”
Like, maybe you’re good with wiping your a** with public restroom floor toilet paper, dude, but no woman’s putting that on her. Sometimes you just have to make people pay attention to their own words, because they clearly aren’t thinking.
