(As soon as I clock in, my clearly angry boss stomps up to me.)

Manager: “[My Name]! You need to call [Customer]!”

(I remember this particular customer, but am confused as to why my manager is so angry.)

Me: “Of course, I will. Why are you so mad, though? Was she rude to you?”

Manager: “No! She said that she wouldn’t bother explaining the situation to me because YOU already knew the situation, and there was nothing I could do to help her! She said that you said you are the only one who can help her!”

Me: “[Manager], do you honestly believe I’d tell a customer that only I could help them? Do you really think I’d set myself up for that?”

Manager: *pauses* “Oh, um… I guess not. Just, er, call [Customer] back!”
