The Neverending Toy Story
A customer has purchased a cinema ticket, walked away a few steps, then turned around and walked back up to me.
Customer: “Do I need to watch the first movie to understand this one?”
Me: “First movie?”
Customer: “Yeah, because this is the second one, right? It’s a sequel?”
Me: “You’re watching The Odyssey, right?”
Customer: “Yeah.”
Me: “Then it’s not a sequel. It’s the first and only movie.”
Customer: “Yeah, but my ticket says The Odyssey 2 on it!”
Me: “The number next to the movie is your auditorium number. You need to go to auditorium two.”
Customer: “Oh… okay.”
He walks towards the correct auditorium, and I laugh to myself a little.
The guy comes back out after the movie and proceeds to buy another ticket (he’s got a movie pass he’s trying to use up), and gets a ticket to see ‘Toy Story 5’.
Me: “Now, sir, this is for Toy Story 5, in auditorium seven. It’s not Toy Story 57.”
Customer: “Hehe, thanks for clarifying.”
The customer walks off, and my supervisor laughs.
Supervisor: “I don’t doubt that we’ll eventually get to that number, though…”
