The Movie They “Hunted” For Was “Hidden” In Her Brain

I am getting ready to watch a movie with my mom. We are both big horror fans. I love her to death, but she can be very forgetful, and it is usually very entertaining.

Mom: “I want to watch The Hunted. I’ve seen it before, but it has a really great twist, so I could watch it again.”

Me: “Okay, what’s it on?”

Mom: “I don’t know.”

I search for “The Hunted” on her TV and come up with tons of results. My mom has me scroll through movies, TV shows, and games before declaring they’re not what she’s looking for, so I search on my phone.

Me: “It looks like the first movie in the search result on your TV was the right one.”

Mom: “No, it’s not right. Try searching for ‘The Hunted zombie movie’.”

Me: “It still says the first movie was right.”

Mom: “It has the guy from True Blood.”

I look up the cast of “True Blood” and show it to her. She scrolls through it and doesn’t recognize anyone.

Me: “Do you remember who he played?”

Mom: “He was one of the vampires.”

Me: “…On the vampire show, which I’ve never seen.”

Mom: “The Swedish one. He’s blond and handsome.”

I read the names of all the blond actors until I get to Alexander Skarsgård.

Mom: “Yes! That’s the one.”

Me: “Okay, I’m looking up his filmography… The Hunted is not on here.”

Mom: “I guarantee you it’s on there. He was in it, I know he was.”

Me: “Check it yourself, then.”

Mom: “…”

Me: “Did you find it?”

Mom: “He was in Hidden.”

Me: “Really?”

Mom: “They both start with H!”

I find “Hidden” on her TV.

Me: “…Mom, we’ve watched this before.”

Mom: “I know, I told you that I watched it before.”

Me: “We watched it together.”

Mom: “What? No, we didn’t.”

For the record, it is a pretty good twist.
