The Kind Of Help This Customer Needs Is Not The Kind You Can Provide

, , | Right | September 15, 2025

A customer is standing at an empty desk in another department, about forty to fifty feet away from us. Instead of walking over to us, he starts shouting:

Customer: “HELP!”

He does this over and over, while staring at us. He sees us serving and checking out customers. He is not in any form of distress or injury. He’s simply… standing there, unblinking, shouting “help!” over and over.

Me: *Radioing manager.* “Manager to the luggage desk, please.”

Manager: *Radioing back.* “Is that where those literal cries for help are coming from?”

Me: “Yes.”

Manager: *Sighs.* “Well, it was a blood moon last night. The crazies are going to come in force today.”

I see my manager walk down a nearby escalator and approach the customer who desperately needed “help” in luggage. The help the customer needed was a trash can for his gum. That was it.
