The Height Of Maturity

| Tolleson, AZ, USA | Learning | September 6, 2013

(I teach seventh graders, and they are all talking to me about my plans to start a family soon.)

Me: “Well, you’re all my babies, so I have 220 12-13 year olds! Maybe I don’t need anymore babies!”

Student: “My mom says that even though I’m 12 years old, I’m still her baby. I can’t be a baby though! I’m over five feet tall! I can’t be your baby too, because I’m not a baby!”

Me: “Well you’ll always be her son and she will always be your mom, so she has every right to say that.”

Student: “I’M NOT A BABY! I AM FIVE FEET TWO INCHES TALL!”
