(My mother takes my little brother, who is about 10 at the time, to get his hair cut. It’s December and Christmas is coming up, so the hair stylist is chatting them up about her kids.)
Stylist: *proudly* “My sons always donate around this time of year! I always made sure to teach them that this is the season of giving.”
Mom: “That’s nice.”
Stylist: *to my brother* “A lot better than receiving gifts, right, hun?”
Brother: “No.”
(At this point my mother and the hair stylist are looking at him shocked.)
Brother: “Wait, what? I wasn’t listening.”
