Customer: “Can I use this here?”
He hands me a Sears hardware/tools gift card.
Me: “No, sir, you’re in [Store]. This is for Sears.”
Customer: “Why does that matter? Sears is right over there!”
Me: “You need to use these in Sears, sir.”
Customer: “But it’s right over there!”
Me: “It’s not a proximity thing, sir. You need to use this in the store, not just near it.”
Customer: “It doesn’t say that on the gift card!”
Me: “In all honesty, sir, it shouldn’t have to.”
