The Future Is History

| Learning | January 18, 2016

(We are watching a film in history, set in the 1930s. One character is not sure about who is the father of her baby.)

Student #1: “[Teacher], couldn’t they have used DNA testing?”

Teacher: “No, that wasn’t invented until the 1980s.”

Student #2: “Maybe they used a time machine.”

Me: “Don’t be ridiculous. Those aren’t invented until the 23rd century.”

(Cue groaning from classmates.)
