Me: *in the voice of The Emperor from Star Wars, while touching up my boyfriend* “Oh, I’m afraid that the deflector shields will be quite operational when your friends arrive.”

Boyfriend: “… I’m so confused right now. I’m incredibly turned on because you’re such a dork and I love you, but that was also such a good impression that it’s freaked me out a bit.”

Me: “I am very proud of my Palpatine impression! It’s like he’s in the room with us!”

Boyfriend: “Why is it taking you so long to realise that that is why I’m freaked out right now?!”
