The D-Lightful Mistake

I was a cashier at a grocery store, and we had something called a “Deal of the Week” we offered every customer at checkout. So this group of three twenty-ish-year-old women walks up to the till buying some fruit cups or something, and this week the deal was vitamin D tablets.

Me: “Would you be interested in our deal of the week?”

Customer #1: “What is it?”

Me: “Vitamin D supplements.”

Customer #1: “Oh no, I’m okay, thank you.”

Customer #2: “…So, does it, like, give you a tan?”

I am so grateful I didn’t have to respond because [Customer #1] and [Customer #3] immediately laughed and told her no, then they walked away.
