Caving In To The Question

(The conductor has repeatedly mentioned Montana while working with us over the past few days at a music festival. Before the concert, he holds a question and answer session during rehearsal to give us a break.)

Student: “Can you explain your experiences and feelings about Montana for us, please?”

Conductor: “Umm…”

Student: “Well, you see, my uncle got lost in Montana and when they found him, he was naked in a cave. So that kind of taints my opinion of the place.”

(The kid never got an answer, but he did get plenty of hypotheses from the rest of the orchestra about why his uncle might have ended up naked in a cave.)
