(We’re in English class, where our usual English teacher has been assigned a student teacher from a nearby university. The teacher is hilarious, but most of his references go over my class’ heads.)
Student Teacher: “Now, who can tell me what Homer meant by this?”
(No one answers him.)
Student Teacher: “Anyone? Anyone want to answer me? If not, I’ll start calling out names.”
(Everyone is either asleep, or just staring at him in confusion.)
Student Teacher: “Bueller? Bueller? …Bueller?”
(A girl in the back suddenly speaks up.)
Girl: “Is the answer Bueller?!”
