The Cake Cancellation Is A Lie
Me: “Hi, you’ve reached [Bakery]. How can I help you today?”
Customer: “I ordered a cake for [date] and I want to cancel my order.”
Me: “All right, I can do that for you.”
I find and cancel her order and let her know it’s cancelled and we hang up. The next day:
Coworker: “Hey, some woman just called and asked if her cake was ready and then screamed at me because you cancelled her order.”
Me: “Uh, yeah, she called yesterday and asked me to cancel it, so I did.”
Coworker: “Well, she wants it again, so I told her you’d make it.”
Me: “That’s not how this works. She has to reorder it in advance if she wants it again. But I’ll make it this time.”
Coworker: “Good, she was really upset. She wants us to call her back the second it’s ready.”
I haven’t heard whether or not she actually came to get it.
