(My mother is pregnant with my youngest sibling and is trying to get my two-year-old brother to understand.)
Mother: “[Brother], there’s a baby in Mommy’s tummy.”
Brother: *laughing* “Noooo!”
(My mother tries to explain that yes, there’s a baby in there and he’s going to be a big brother. After a few weeks, she thinks he’s finally starting to get it.)
Mother: “[Brother], there’s a baby in Mommy’s tummy.”
Brother: *excited* “Yeah!”
Mother: *skeptical* “[Brother], there’s a monkey in Mommy’s tummy.”
Brother: *excited* “Yeah!”
