The Almond Joys Are Made From Tofu, Though!
Customer: “Is almond milk from almonds, or like… special cows?”
Me: “Almond milk is from almonds.”
Customer: “So… if I have a nut allergy…”
He lets the statement hang there for a concerning length of time.
Me: “…I would not recommend it.”
Customer: “Do they make almond milk that’s not from almonds?”
Me: “Not usually, no.”
The customer sighs and moves on. Now I know why peanut butter jars have warning labels on them saying “contains nuts.”
