(I’m tutoring a student in algebra after school.)
Me: “Okay. So, now you just need to divide 150 by 25.”
Student: “I need a calculator.”
Me: “No, you don’t. How many quarters would it take to get $1.50?”
Student: “Six.”
Me: “Good. So 150 divided by 25 is?”
Student: “I told you I need a calculator to do that.”
