Taking The Family Out To Take A Family Out

(My mother is going to run a race, so my dad, my children and I go with her to cheer her on. We’re in the car, waiting to be parked. My mother sees a woman about her age. My mother is a bit competitive, and always on the look-out for her competition.)
Mom: “Hey, she could be in my age group.”
Dad: “So… take her out?”
(We all laugh and eventually find a parking space. A bit later I’ve lost track of my mother.)
Me: “Where’s mom? I don’t see her anywhere.”
Dad: “I don’t know. Maybe some other husband took her out.”
