Takes A While To Cash Up

Me: “Your total is $23.42.”

Customer: *Pulls out a 5 and two 1s.* “How much now?”

Me: “… $16.42.”

Customer: *Peels off three more ones.* “Okay?”

Me: “Um… That brings you up to $10… So, I still need another $13.42.”

Customer: *Tosses in another five and slowly pulls out ten more 1s.* “Okay, how about now?”

Me: “…Okay, you gave me a dollar more than I need, so you take this and let me get your change.”

She gets her change and receipt and stands there another three minutes trying to straighten and fix her crumpled cash.
