Take Note Of Open Note

(My high school government teacher is close to retirement and is known for doing weird stuff. On the first day of class:)

Teacher: “Now, sometimes I start to ramble, and you might think that’s an excuse to stop listening, but you’re gonna listen, because sometimes I might say something and only the people who heard will know they can do it!”

(I don’t know what that meant until about a month into the school year in the middle of his ramble:)

Teacher: “The three branches of government – your final exam is open book and open note – are a brilliant…”

(You wouldn’t imagine how many people showed up on the last day with only a pencil!)
