Swim Fast, And Prosper

| Learning | February 5, 2016

(In my high school biology class some 25 years ago, we had units that required dissection of different animals. Near the end of the school year, we had to dissect baby sharks.)

Teacher: “Each group needs to pick up their shark and use your diagram to begin your dissection!”

(The classroom is quiet as groups begin the dissection process.)

Student: “Duuuuuude! This shark ATE someone before it died!”

(The entire class gathers around this group to see them pull an ear out of the stomach of their baby shark. They proceed to clean the ear off and discover it is a costume Spock ear.)

Student: “Mrs. [Teacher], what gives?!”

(Our biology teacher had planned a prank on this group of guys. She had made a small, hidden, incision and pulled out the shark’s innards and filled the cavity with a Spock ear and hamburger.)
