Sweetly Deceptive

(This is a common occurrence in my household.)

Me: “Dad, I just made some grape pie. Would you like some?”

Dad: “No, I don’t like grape pie. Thanks anyway.”

(The next day…)

Me: *looking through the fridge* “Hey, Mom, what happened to the pie?”

Mom: “Your father finished it.”

Me: “What?! He said he doesn’t like grape pie!”

Mom: “I think he’s trying to convince himself more than us…”

(He also said he didn’t like my cookies because they were ‘too sweet’… and finished those, too.)
