Stop Being Rubikulous

| Friendly | June 4, 2016

(Friend #1 and I both like Rubik’s Cube-like puzzles, called twisty puzzles. I like to bring a couple of puzzles that I own to school. On this day, I bring a 3x3x3 (Rubik’s Cube), a 4x4x4 (Rubik’s Revenge), and a 5x5x5 (Professor’s Cube). Everyone in the school is given a quick 30-minute free period. Friend #1, Friend #2, and I are sitting in the hallway. I’m solving my 4x4x4. Friend #1 is solving my 5x5x5. Friend #2 knows the first couple of steps to solving a 3x3x3, but she doesn’t know it fully.)

Me: “Crap, I messed up the centers! Dumb mistake.”

(In order to solve a 4x4x4, one must orient the centers in such a way that it aligns with the corners and the color scheme. In some cases, one would have two groups of centers swapped.)

Friend #2: “Yeah, you’re so dumb, [My Name].”

Me: *hesitates* “Says the one who can’t solve a 3x3x3.”
