Some People Just Want To Watch The World Burn, Part 34
I work in a hardware store. We sell pretty much anything you need for a “Do-It-Yourself” project. One day a client is upset because we can’t offer him a refund on old insulation that he bought and forgot about… he’d bought it five years ago, and they don’t even manufacture that insulation anymore.
So, muttering to himself, he left the customer service desk to enter the store itself saying:
Customer: “I need to pick up a few more items.”
We keep our nuts, bolts, screws, washers, nails, and the like in a series of tubs sorted by size and type.
The next time I saw him he was angrily mixing all of our nuts, bolts, screws, and nails into a gigantic mess on the floor, ripping the tubs from the racks and pouring them on the floor, then kicking his way through the resulting piles. We had to call the cops to escort him off the premises.
We swept up the mess he’d made and re-sorted it in the back. The hard part was sorting out the items by category, which had to be done by hand. Fortunately, we had machines that could sort them by size once they were categorized.
All in all, it took about two-and-a-half days to fully fix the whole mess.
