I’m working the hot food deli in our large supermarket when I hear the sound of a lot of glass smashing. My coworker and I share a glance.
Me: “Ouch, that sounds like it’s gonna be messy.”
About an hour later, a manager comes by looking tired. I ask about the noise.
Manager: “Some kid threw a tantrum because his mom wouldn’t buy him a video game, so he ran down the liquor aisle with his arm out and slid a whole bunch of vodka bottles off the shelves.”
Me: “D***, young kids can be so annoying. I kinda feel for the parents, but really, you should be controlling your kid better—”
Manager: “The kid is fourteen.”
Me: “…Never mind.”
