Skimming Over The Facts, Part 2
A coworker and I are bringing out a restocking cart to the milk section.
Customer: “Why does this 2% milk have so many calories? It’s just 2% milk!”
Me: “Well, that’s just the standard for a reduced-fat milk option.”
Customer: “But it’s only 2% milk! The rest is water!”
Me: “No, sir. ‘2% milk’ means it has 2% milk fat by weight. The rest is still milk, not water.”
Customer: “Don’t try to spin it. I know math. Two percent is two percent.”
I pick up a gallon of 0% fat-free milk.
Me: “So what’s this made of?”
Customer: *Squints, then hesitates.* “That’s not the same thing!”
He grumbles and walks away.
Coworker: “I was eating some 70% dark chocolate earlier. Now it makes sense why the other 30% tasted of lies!”
