Sister Is Acting Precious

(My 10-year-old sister is playing that we’re in ‘The Lord of the Rings’. The ring I’m wearing is the ring of power, and she is Gollum. She is crawling all over me, speaking in a frighteningly accurate Gollum voice.)

Sister: “The Precious! What is the Hobbitses doing with our precious?”

Me: “No.”

Sister: “Give us the precious! THE PRECIOUSSSSSS!”

Me: “No!”

(I bonk her on the head, just enough to hurt for a couple of seconds.)

(My sister assumes the most heartbroken face I’ve ever seen, and returns to a normal voice.)

Sister: “Ouch! That hurt us. We’re leaving.” *stomps away*
