Silence Speaks Volumes

(I’m very introverted and hardly ever speak up in class. One day, no one is volunteering to answer the professor’s questions, and he starts getting frustrated.)

Professor: “Okay, for my next question, I want the quietest person in here to answer it. [My Name], who would you say is the quietest person in this class?”

Me: “Uh…”

(In truth it was probably me, but I didn’t want to say that.)

Professor: *after a few seconds of silence* “Well, I guess that answers THAT question!”
