Shining The Torch For All Marriages

| Romantic | April 11, 2017

(One night after the bins were taken out to the road for pick up, I decide to take some rubbish to put in them. We have a long dark driveway and as I turn to go back to the house I notice a male loitering near my car in the shadows. As he steps into the light I realise it’s my son:)

Me: “What are you doing?! You frightened me.”

Son: “Oh, I’m sorry. I noticed you went outside so I was checking to make sure you were all right.”

Me: “Aw, thanks, that’s something your father wouldn’t do.”

Son: “I’m sure he would if you told him you were going down to the road at night.”

(A couple of weeks later I need to take rubbish out again and Husband notices me carrying heavy bags out as I pass by where he’s watching TV. It’s almost midnight.)

Husband: “What are you doing with those?”

Me: “Taking them out to the bins.”

Husband:  “They’re down by the road.”

Me: “I know.”

Husband: *turns back to the TV* “Take a torch with you.”

Me: “I have no hands left to carry a torch.”

Husband: “Watch out for puddles, then.”
