Self-Identity Theft

| Learning | March 29, 2017

(At my school, if you miss a class, you have to fill out a form with the periods you missed and get it signed by the teacher(s). Those under 18 have to have a parent sign it, but if you are 18 or over, you just have to sign the form yourself. I had been ill and I go to my math teacher so he can sign my form.)

Teacher: “What’s that?” *points at my signature*

Me: “Uh… that’s my signature.”

Teacher: *looks at me suspiciously* “It looks weird.”

Classmate: “Sir, it’s just her signature. It’s just a little squiggly.”

Teacher: “Show me your signature.” *hands me a piece of paper for me to sign*

(I sign the piece of paper. He still looks suspicious, but lets it go. Later:)

Classmate: “Did he think you forged your own signature?”
