‘A’ For Apple

(I’m taking a work/study-type course, and try to keep on top of my grades with a professor who is rather dismal about keeping up with grades.)
My Email: “Hi, Professor [Name], it’s [My Name]. I was wondering if you could give me an update about my grades? I wanted to keep on top of them.”
(His email arrived a few days later.)
His Email: “I heard you make an amazing apple pie. Bring me one, and if it’s amazing, and you put your hours in, I’ll give you an ‘A.'”
(I have no clue where he heard I bake, or who said it was good, but I did get an ‘A’!)
