Scatty Chatty

(My mom has a habit of asking questions and not listening to the answers. I have recently applied to be a camp counsellor at a local day camp.)

Me: “I called earlier to confirm my interview, so I’m going in at 11 on Wednesday.”

Mom: “Oh, okay.”

(Less than two minutes later…)

Mom: “Did you call the camp?”

Me: “Yes.”

Mom: “Did you speak to Bobby?”

Me: “Yes.”

Mom: “Oh, and what did he say?”

Me: “That I’m interviewing on Wednesday at 11.”

Mom: “Okay. So when are you going?”

Me: “Wednesday. At. 11.”

Mom: “You should call back to find out what time.”

Me: “ELEVEN.”

Mom: “What else did he say?”

Me: “Nothing.”

Mom: “You didn’t speak to him?”
