(It is after my first day at a new job. I am waiting at a bus stop in one of the sketchier parts of the city, and am rather nervous because I’ve spent my entire life living in small towns and rural areas. A woman in white pants walks up to me.)
Woman: “Excuse me, do I have anything on my pants?”
(She turns around, shoving her butt towards my face.)
Me: “Um… no?”
Woman: “Okay, thank you. Girl stuff, you know.”
(She walks off as if nothing unusual has happened. I took that as my official “Welcome to the city” conversation.)
