Saved By Jesus

(I’m 11 years old. I’m at a leisure center with 21-year-old sister. We’re taking our shoes off so we can get in the pool when a women sitting at the table near us speaks up.)

Woman: “How disgraceful! Having a child at that age!”

Me: “Dude, she’s my older sister; she’s only 10 years older than me!”

Woman: “Lies! No-one has a sibling 10 years older!”

Me: “Well, I do! We also have an older brother who is 13 years older than me!”

(The woman stands up and points at my sister.)

Woman: “You are a s***!”

(My eyes widen, as little kids in the area ask their parents what that word means. My sister leaves to go and get a lifeguard. I am getting sick of this woman.)

Me: “LOOK! My sister had a child after getting married. Her one-year-old daughter is the only child she has!”

Woman: “Well… I bet she’s a HORRIBLE mother! I bet Jesus hates your sister because she doesn’t believe in Jesus!”

Me: “Doesn’t Jesus love all his children? You’re a bad Christian if you treat people like that and curse in front of children!”

(By now the lifeguard and my sister have returned. They are both looking at me in shock with my retaliation.)

Lifeguard: “Ma’am, we have a code. Treating others badly and cursing are not allowed.”

(The woman is taken out, and people cheer! I’m given a free pair of goggles for standing up to her!)
