Sandwiched Between A Customer And A Hard Place

I’m a manager at a popular fast food restaurant. One of my regulars brings back two of his sandwiches, cursing out my sixteen-year-old cashier. I send her to the back of the store to escape while I deal with him.

Customer: “This is f****** ridiculous! I want a refund!”

I refund him for his two sandwiches and hand him his money.

Customer: “This is only seven dollars. I had a ten-dollar order. I want the whole thing refunded.”

Me: “Sir, only two of your sandwiches were messed up, and you returned them. Did you get your other sandwiches?”

Customer: “Yes.”

Me: “Did you eat them?”

Customer: “Yes.”

Me: “Did you get your drinks?”

Customer: “Yes.”

Me: “Did you finish them?”

Customer: “Yes.”

Me: “Sir, I gave you a refund for food that you brought back and didn’t eat. I am not giving you a refund for food that you already ate. I am not paying you to eat here.”

Customer: “This is f****** ridiculous! I’m calling corporate!”

I don’t know if corporate did him any good, but this man has since been in our store twice and has yet to cause any more problems.
